Cost to repair auto ac — St. Louis, MO

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

HVAC repair costs change based on a few main things. The age and brand of your unit play a big role, as older systems sometimes need parts that are harder to source. The nature of the problem is the biggest factor—a simple capacitor swap is much cheaper than addressing a refrigerant leak or a failed compressor motor. Labor time also depends on how easily a technician can access your equipment in a tight attic or crawlspace. We provide exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

To repair an auto AC, a technician must first locate the leak or electrical fault. If your system is low on refrigerant, they must also check for leaks before refilling. Prices fluctuate based on the amount of labor and the price of the replacement components specific to your make and model.
